Since its founding in 2001,
the Accreditation, Certification and Quality Assurance Institute ACQUIN e.V.
has been conducting evaluation and accreditation procedures in the higher education sector, thereby contributing to the development of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA).
With more than 150 member institutions, ACQUIN is currently the largest member-based accreditation agency in Germany and thus one of the largest associations of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in Germany actively involved in implementing the accreditation system.
As an agency operating across all academic disciplines, ACQUIN is familiar with the specific requirements of every type of Higher Education Institution – particularly those with special profile orientations – and is therefore a reliable partner for Higher Education Institutions both in Germany and abroad.

Its members include Higher Education Institutions in Germany, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Lebanon, Egypt, Mongolia and Indonesia, as well as science-related professional and trade associations.
