According to the State Treaty on the Accreditation of Studies, programme accreditation refers to the quality assurance and quality development of study programmes with external participation. Particularly in Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programmes, quality must be guaranteed with regard to compliance with certain criteria and the vocational relevance of the degrees. The aim of the programme accreditation procedure is to assess (evaluate) and establish (accredit) the quality of the study programme by an expert committee on the basis of a self-evaluation report by the higher education institution and discussions during an on-site visit to the higher education institution.
