The subject of system accreditation is the internal management and quality assurance system of a higher education institution in the area of teaching and learning. The structures and processes relevant for teaching and learning are checked to see whether they are suitable for achieving the qualification goals and ensuring the high quality of the degree programmes. A HEI’s quality assurance system enables the continuous improvement of the quality of its degree programmes through suitable structures and processes. In the system accreditation procedure, the systematic review of the effectiveness of these control processes by the HEI is evaluated, which is intended to lead to a further development of the quality assurance system. With the successful system accreditation, the higher education institution receives the right to award the seal of the Accreditation Council for the study programmes it has examined itself.
